What is IVUS?

It is an Intravascular Ultrasound System which tells us the detailed anatomy and the nature of the block in the blood vessel. It also helps in determining the size, length and the points of placement of the stent. It adds to the angioplasty cost.

What is OCT?

It is an Optical Coherence Tomography, is produces images of your blood vessels internally and externally giving a 3D view during angioplasty. It also tells us the detailed anatomy and the nature of the block in the blood vessel. It also helps in determining the size, length and the points of placement of the stent. How the stent has been placed is very well confirmed with OCT. It is an excellent technique to get the best results in angioplasty. It adds to the angioplasty cost.

What is Rota?

Rotational Atherectomy is used to break hard calcium in the blood vessel, so that the vessel can be dilated with balloons before putting the stent to optimize the results of angioplasty,

What is IVL?

It is an Intravascular Lithotripsy, which is used to break the hard calcium in the blood vessels with the help on ultrasonic shockwaves to give the best stent placement and opposition of the same. It costs around 2.5 Lac Rupees in the current date. I personally consider it as a sophisticated way to break the calcium when the vessel size allows the IVL system to enter in the blood vessel. Else ROTA is the option

All of these things are done during Angioplasty itself, which adds to the cost of the procedure to optimize the desired result through the procedure.
