Successfully performed TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation- Aortic Valve Replacement without open heart surgery) in a critically ill patient at Medicover Navi Mumbai by me and my team.An elderly lady with severe LV dysfunction (EF:30%), low flow, low gradient severe aortic stenosis with serve aortic regurgitation with chronic kidney disease(CKD) and recurrent heart failure. The TAVI procedure is crucial for patients who have severe aortic stenosis, a disease that narrows the valve between the heart and the aorta, and are at extreme risk for open-heart surgery. This device is different from other heart valves on the market as it has been shown to greatly improve the blood flow of patients with symptomatic severe aortic stenosis, helping their hearts resume normal, healthy blood flow performance quickly.
